Transfer from Auckland International and Domestic Airports to downtown Auckland (where most Waiheke ferries depart) takes about 40 minutes (or more at peak time). This trip costs about $60 for a taxi, or $20 to $30 per person for a shuttle.
Travel to Waiheke Island by passenger ferry takes about 35 minutes from Auckland on a Fullers Ferry and costs $32 adult return. SeaLink's car and passenger ferry takes 45 minutes from Half Moon Bay - check their web site for current pricing.
Helicopter transfers from Auckland International Airport cost about $1,300 and take 15 minutes.
Aeroplane transfers from Auckland Airport cost $149 per person (minimum 2), taking 15 minutes to Waiheke Island's airfield.
Cars can be hired on the island from $50 per day, there may also be a per km charge.
